Terra di Maimoni - Land of Maimoni
Back in Cabras, as I unpack my bags at Giorgia’s, the sweet scent of home already fills the air. I gaze at the herbs I planted; nurtured by little Viola, they have flourished, filling the beautiful terrace overlooking the lagoon with their fragrance.
Without a moment's delay, I set off toward Maimoni’s land. I, a traveler who has always chased distant horizons, found myself trapped here by the lockdown—only to fall passionately, deeply in love with this place.

The dirt road leading to the sea winds through a changing countryside, a landscape I have watched transform with the rhythm of the seasons and the quiet rhythm of farming life. In May, the eye would wander across endless fields of mysterious wild carrot flowers. They bloom like delicate lace, crafted by a nature so generous with its beauty, before folding into themselves to become secret treasure chests as the flowering ends.

The artichoke fields, heavy with their harvest, gleamed with the vibrant red of poppies, while endless seas of yellow daisies filled the air with the very essence of spring

After a few days away, almost overnight, a thick, golden harvest of wheat had risen from the red earth toward the sky. It compelled me to pull over, forcing me to stop and simply lose myself in the beauty of the landscape and the depth of my own emotions.

Grande Madre Terra.
Earth is a word as tender as Mother, for it speaks of fertility, of birth, of life itself.
Great Mother Earth.
Leaving the car behind, I stepped carefully among the stalks of wheat. With my arm outstretched, I could feel them brushing against my open palm. Then, I knelt low to look at the sky through them, and there, nestled among the clouds, I discovered a small heart.

The next day, the stalks of wheat were gone. By the following day, across the shorn fields, great wheels of straw lay scattered—like toys left behind by a giant child.

The work in the fields speaks to me of continuity: life, death, and rebirth. It nourishes hope. Journeying through this land has always stirred my soul, and today, finally, here I am again—where the vibrant green of spring has now dissolved into warm shades of gold and brown.

As the car bounces over the potholes and stones of the dirt road, a ribbon of deep blue suddenly unfolds before me—the sea, the destination I have been longing to reach.

The sandy beach stretches along a shoreline lush with wild greenery.
I wander beside the coastal scrub which, as it does across the entire Oristano region, releases a different fragrance with every passing season and bloom.

And so, wild fennel gives way to myrtle, and lemon balm intertwines with wild lavender.
When the silver-grey leaves of the wormwood plant fill with yellow blossoms, its aroma grows even deeper, turning into an almost intoxicating fragrance on warm days.
The helichrysum, on the other hand, quietly blends into the landscape, remaining unnoticed until an intense fragrance suddenly bursts from its small bushes. I gather the blossoms to brew a warm tea, blending them with fresh mint and a touch of ginger.

An endless landscape of nuances fills the eyes, while the shapes of nature speak of the deep experience of life on this planet.

I walk toward the beach along the wooden walkway, while the clouds resemble a garland gently placed there by a divine hand.

At my feet, a wild morning glory peeks through the wooden planks of the walkway, and I step carefully to avoid hurting it.
A tiny, immense example of resilience.

Qualche giorno fa un uomo appena conosciuto mi ha chiesto > Perché ti piace qui? <
Ho risposto di getto, senza pensare
> Perché il cielo è mutevole. <
A few days ago, a man I had just met asked me, "Why do you like it here?"
I answered instinctively, without a second thought, "Because the sky is ever-changing."
And it is truly so. I love skies that change just as I do. I love the sky over Cabras, which always offers a touch of sunset red at the end of the day, when it doesn’t instead erupt into a blazing fire across the heavens.
I love the wind, an endless presence here, and the fleeting nature of the clouds, altering the landscape with their drifting shadows.

And above all, I love the magic and transparency of these blues, turquoises, azures, and greens, framed by fine white sand.
Grande Madre Mare.
I lose myself in the microscopic claws of a tiny crab, or in the stride of a seagull that has just landed nearby. Then, breathing in the sea breeze, I float with closed eyes in the embrace of this crystal-clear sea.
Today, as I dove into the turquoise waters, I watched saddled bream, white seabream, and striped seabream all swimming together. I followed a fish I had never seen before—a small ray, hurrying along, brushing against the sand. [1, 2, 3]
Great Mother Sea.

Che meraviglia!!!!! Grande Sardegna!!!!!!
Immagini e descrizioni semplicemente affascinanti!!
